Safeguarding
Protecting children, young people, and vulnerable adults in our church family.
Our commitment
Wycombe Community SDA Church is committed to providing a safe, caring environment where everyone — especially children, young people, and vulnerable adults — can worship, learn, and grow in faith without fear of harm. Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility.
We follow the safeguarding policy of the South England Conference of Seventh-day Adventists and work within the guidelines of thirtyone:eight (the UK's Christian safeguarding charity).
What we do
- All staff and volunteers working with children or vulnerable adults complete a DBS check and undergo safeguarding training.
- Children's ministry and Pathfinder activities always have at least two unrelated adult leaders present.
- We keep a written safeguarding policy and review it annually.
- We record any safeguarding concerns confidentially and report serious concerns to the appropriate statutory authority.

If you disclose abuse to us
We will listen, take you seriously, and never promise to keep information secret if we believe someone is at risk of harm. We will explain clearly what happens next and who we have to inform. You will not be judged, blamed, or left to deal with it alone.
